Tips from an off-duty RNC officer, and the public, helped police nab two suspected drunk drivers in St. John's on Sunday.

At about 8 a.m., the off-duty officer noticed a possibly impaired driver in the area of LeMarchant Road.

A man, 46, was arrested and charged with impaired driving, possession of a prohibited weapon and several breaches of court orders.

And just before 2 p.m., police received a call from a concerned citizen who reported a possibly drunk driver on the Outer Ring Road.

A man, 65, was charged with impaired driving after he was pulled over in the area of Thorburn Road.

Both men were expected to appear in court on Monday.
