Sofyan Boalag, 33, the man charged after a series of sexual assaults in St. John's, will now have his bail hearing on Monday.
So far, Boalag has only been charged with sexually assaulting one woman, but police believe he could be connected to four other incidents.
Boalag has been accused of using a knife and choking the woman during the alleged assault.
He's also been charged with sexual assault causing bodily harm and with taking some of the woman's property.
Boalag's lawyer, Jane Fitzpatrick, told the court that she expects Monday's bail hearing to be lengthy.
