There's been another sexual assault in St. John's and police believe it may the third in a string of similar attacks.

On Friday , the RNC issued a warning to the public about a potential unidentified offender who may be responsible for one or more sexual assaults in the downtown and centre city areas.

Early Sunday morning police received a report of another sexual assault sometime between 3 and 4 a.m. in the same general area.

In this instance, a woman left a nightclub and encountered a man in the downtown area.

The woman walked with the man away from downtown and toward the centre of the city and was sexually assaulted. The suspect is described as being between 30 and 40 years old, tall with a slim build and dark complexion.

The RNC are cautioning women about walking alone in the downtown or centre city alone at night.

The investigation is continuing.
