How will you remember 2012? Which stories from the last year strike you as the most important … or at least are the ones that are most firm in your memory?
We've compiled a list — and, we admit, it's not a short one — of some of the more important stories we've published since New Year's Day. Each year, we ask our audience to tell us what stories mattered the most to them.
Here's how it works. Select as many stories from the list below as you like that resonate with you as being significant; it's a subjective judgment, so don't be shy about picking as few or as many as you like. You can vote once a day, every day, until Dec. 20. By then, we hope to have an aggregate sense of the year's top stories.
We'll publish a list of the top choices just before Christmas, so watch for that. [We'll also have a full package with other year-in-review content.]
