Police in central Newfoundland are investigating the death of an all-terrain vehicle driver.
RCMP said the victim left his home in Notre Dame Junction on Tuesday morning to check his rabbit slips.
When he hadn't returned by suppertime, a search began.
His body was found next to his ATV, about 25 kilometres south of the Trans-Canada Highway, in the area of Red Fox Road and Mount Peyton.
It is not clear whether the ATV may have contributed to the man’s death. The medical examiner will be performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
The hunter's name has not been released.
