Political blogger Brad Cabana said he'll continue to try to file a legal challenge in order to get a referendum on Muskrat Falls.

Cabana addressed Newfoundland and Labrador's Supreme Court this morning on his belief that people have a constitutional right to approve the project, but Justice Gillian Butler told him that he needed to go back and do a lot more work.

"As the judge suggested, I'm going to refile the full statement of claim. Serve Nalcor, the Innu Nation, as well as the government," said Cabana. "Try to get an interim decision. Until that's heard, the judge suggested that's the better route to take on this."

Cabana, who has been representing himself, has been wrapped up in a mountain of court matters.

On Tuesday, he filed a $5-million defamation lawsuit against Premier Kathy Dunderdale and tourism minister Terry French.

Cabana said comments French made about him on talk radio are "extreme and severe character assassination."

Cabana has been sued for defamation himself by former premier Danny Williams and mining company, Alderon.

That lawsuit has alleged Cabana made defamatory comments on talk radio and on his blog.
