This is one of the busiest weekends of the year on George Street in St. John's.
On one of the busiest weekends of the year on on George Street, the group that represents bars and restaurants on the strip says businesses are reminding staff and party-goers of an advisory by the RNC.
Police in St. John's issued a warning on Thursday that four women were recently sexually assaulted after drugs were slipped into their drinks while they were on George Street.
Seamus O'Keefe of the George Street Association says they're concerned about the warning, but believe there is no reason to be scared.
"It's certainly a concern to us but we don't want to invoke a panic," said O'Keefe, who stated that staff will inform people as they enter establishments on George.
"We don't want to create a panic situation because we don't believe it is a widespread epidemic at this point in time."
Police say the assaults weren't random, and that the victims knew their attackers.
They also say they're investigating several "persons of interest" in the case.
To O'Keefe, this is good reason to stay calm, while taking precautions.
"We don't want to put mass warnings out," he said. "Certainly at this point in time, we don't think that requirement is required. If it is we will do so."
