Two MUN professors honoured at convocation

A thousand students graduated from Memorial University on Friday.
Dr.Chandra Sankurathri is a scientist who started a foundation to help humanitarian projects in India. (Memorial University)Two honorary degrees were also handed out at convocation ceremonies in St. John's.
Dr. Chandra Sankurathri received an honorary degree for dedicating his life to helping others.
The former government scientist is a Memorial graduate who lost his wife and children in the 1985 Air India bombing.
In 1989, Sankurathri established a foundation dedicated to helping humanitarian projects in India.
Dr. Raymond David Findlay is an engineer who has been widely published. (Memorial University)Dr. Raymond David Findlay also received an honorary degree.
Findlay is an engineer and former president of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
He's published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and more than 140 refereed conference publications, and has been a professor at several universities.
