A former supervisor from the Canada Revenue Agency was fined more than $50,000 for defrauding the government, but won't set foot in jail.

Harold Farr was convicted in June and sentenced in provincial court Friday morning.

Farr has Huntington's disease, and because of his failing health, he won't have to do any jail time.

During his trial, Farr's lawyer argued that his client's neurological disorder took away his ability to control his impulses.

Over a four-year period, Farr took more than $50,000 by resetting passwords to gain access to tax refunds.

Farr has already repaid $18,000, and he has four years to repay the rest.
