The mother of a teenage beating victim is upset with what she sees as a lack of action from the child's school.

On Friday, the RCMP arrested two girls, aged 13 and 15, for knocking another 13-year-old girl into a ditch near Crescent Collegiate in Blaketown and assaulting her.

They allegedly punched their victim repeatedly.

The girl was treated for minor injuries at the clinic in Whitbourne and later released.

The girl's mother, whose name is being withheld, said her child had been the victim of bullying for some time.

"They were always talking about that they were going to beat her up," the mother told CBC News.

"She doesn't even eat her lunch or her recess down there. She won't go to the cafeteria and get in the line-up, because they're saying things to her all the time."

The woman says the school administration let the situation go on too long without taking action.

The alleged assailants have been suspended from school for five days.

They have been charged with assault causing bodily harm, and will have a court date in December.
