The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating a weekend stabbing in downtown St. John’s that sent a man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say they were approached by a 26-year-old man on Duckworth Street just before 4 a.m. Sunday. The man told officers he had been stabbed.

His injuries, which police say were consistent with a stabbing, were believed to be life-threatening.

The man was brought to the hospital for treatment.

Police say their investigation is continuing.
