Nelson Hart's mother says she will continue to stand behind him.

An appeal court ordered a new trial for Hart this week after it was determined the RCMP went too far during an undercover operation used to get his confession.

Pearl Hart is trying to get her son released from prison where he's serving a life sentence after being convicted in 2007 of murdering his three-year-old twin daughters. They drowned in Gander Lake in August of 2002.

Mrs. Hart spoke to CBC News on Wednesday. She said she still believes her son is innocent, and has hired a lawyer to try to get him out of jail.

She also plans to sue the RCMP if she succeeds in getting him released.
