Flooding struck not one but two housing complexes in St. John's, forcing evacuations in both.

While a burst pipe displaced residents of East Point Condominiums early Monday morning, a second incident struck the Rockcliffe Heights apartment complex on Blackmarsh Road on Monday afternoon.

A water leak there forced some tenants out of their units.

In each case, power had to be cut due to the flooding.

The Canadian Red Cross stepped up to provide emergency shelter for displaced residents at local hotels.
