Police in St. John's have charged a man in connection with what could have been a violent robbery.

David Wayne Murray, 28, appeared in court Monday on charges of assault and uttering threats.

The RNC responded to a report of a robbery on Saturday afternoon in the Craigmillar Avenue area.

The RNC used a police dog to help track the suspect.

A 40-year-old man was treated in hospital for his injuries.

Murray’s bail hearing is scheduled for Tuesday.
