A young man from British Columbia has been sentenced to two years in jail by a judge in St. John's.

In March, Lailynd Grandbois, 23, rammed a Royal Newfoundland Constabulary cruiser in Paradise with a truck he had stolen.

Among other things, Grandbois was convicted of possessing stolen property, dangerous operation of a vehicle, and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

Grandbois was sentenced in provincial court on Tuesday.

When he gets out of prison, he won't be allowed to drive for 10 years.
