There were a few tense hours Tuesday night near Cape Spear, when a woman with special needs went missing.
The woman was reported missing before 8 p.m. in the area of Blackhead, just outside Cape Spear.
The volunteer Rovers ground search team joined uniformed officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary, which also brought in a dog unit to search the area where the woman had last been seen.
The RNC said the woman was found safely a couple of hours later, "in the woods not too far from where she was last seen."
