Asbestos suspected in Lab City centre closure

Labrador City Mayor Karen Oldford says work was halted immediately on upgrades at a youth centre. (CBC)The former youth centre in Labrador City was shut down Thursday when crews discovered what is believed to be asbestos.
Mayor Karen Oldford says workers were doing upgrades in the building at the time.
Oldford said testing was scheduled for Friday, and results are expected next week.
Until then, the building will remain closed.
The renovations are being done to accommodate the local gymnastics club.
