A Carbonear man is in custody following an attempted armed robbery in the town Wednesday night.
Police say a man was working in his garage just after 9 p.m. when the suspect barged in and accused the homeowner of owing him money.
A struggle ensued, as the suspect tried to grab jewelry that the other man was wearing.
Police believe the suspect also pulled a gun, but it was knocked out of his hand.
Others showed up and the accused left, but not before grabbing what police believe was his gun.
RCMP officers, along with a police dog and crisis negotiators, then went to the suspect's home.
After police contacted him, the 32-year-old man was arrested without incident. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Police say the 28-year-old homeowner suffered minor injuries.
