The woman with the number one song in North America and the band whose lead singer just made headlines for leaving "American Idol", are set to perform in Grand Falls-Windsor on Saturday.
Carly Rae Jepsen and Steven Tyler, along with his band Aerosmith, are the two headlining acts at Salmon Fest 2012, a giant outdoor concert slated to start tomorrow afternoon.
Aerosmith performs at the 45th Festival d'ete de Quebec on the Plains of Abraham in Quebec city Thursday July 12, 2012. Jepsen's hit single "Call Me Maybe" has become the sing-along anthem of the summer, and has inspired many YouTube cover versions.
Tyler, the lead singer of Aerosmith, rocked the entertainment industry on Thursday when he announced his departure from his judging role on the popular television series "American Idol".
1970's rock band Cheap Trick, rapper Flo Rida, and Detroit rocker Uncle Kracker are also been scheduled to perform.
Thousands of concert-goers expected
Since Friday morning, music fans have been pouring into the central Newfoundland town to get ready for Saturday's concert.
Aerosmith fan Billy Baudoux drove in from Nova Scotia to see his favourite band for the fourth time.
"It was my dream always to come over to Newfoundland and then when I heard Aerosmith was coming I said 'I gotta go,' so we bought tickets," said Badeaux.
Many concert-goers booked hotel and motel rooms within a two-hour driving radius of the concert months ago, and the hardiest partiers have headed to the town's Red Cliff campground.
Dave Alyward set up his camping spot at 2:30 a.m. on Friday, and was set to rock and roll with his favourite music acts all weekend.
"I don't plan on doing that [sleep] 'till Monday morning when I go back to work."
