Gas prices are up in Newfoundland and Labrador this morning, but not as much as predicted.

The maximum price for all types of gasoline increased by 1.1 cents per litre.

George Murphy, researcher for the Consumer Group for Fair Gas Prices and MHA for St. John's East, had predicted a jump of 3.4 cents per litre.

The Public Utilities Board also raised the prices of diesel by 3.7 cents per litre and home heating fuel by 2.68 cents per litre.
