Charges of sexual assault and sexual interference against Dave Winters, 54, of Happy Valley-Goose Bay have been dismissed.
Judge Lois Skanes said that Crown prosecutor Elizabeth Ivany failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Winters had committed the offences.
A teenage girl, a friend of Winters' family, had accused Winters of touching her inappropriately at his house in the early morning hours of April 17, 2011.
During the trial, Winters testified the girl came back from a party drunk and then lay down next to him, but that nothing else happened.
Winters has been involved with sports in Labrador for decades, as a soccer coach and as a board member of the Happy Valley-Goose Bay Minor Soccer Association and the Labrador Winter Games.
