One man dead after tractor-trailer and car collide

A man is dead after the car he was driving collided with a tractor-trailer on the TCH near Clarenville on Saturday evening.
The accident happened at around 6:30 p.m., 20 kilometres east of Clarenville.
The west bound car hit the east bound tractor-trailer.
RCMP said the 54-year-old male driver of the car died at the scene of the accident.
There was heavy rain in the area at the time of the crash.
The highway was closed following the accident; it reopened early Sunday morning.
