The driver of a motorcycle that crashed on the Trans-Canada Highway Saturday has died, police say. (CBC)

A 50-year-old man from Paradise is dead following a motorcycle accident on the Trans-Canada Highway in the Thomas Pond area Saturday.

The accident occurred in the eastbound lane.

Police say the motorcycle struck a bridge on a part of the highway between the Foxtrap Access Road and Paddy's Pond.

The driver — whose name is being withheld at this time — was taken to hospital, but later succumbed to his injuries, according to the RCMP.
