RCMP divers have located a body in the waters of Bonavista Bay.
Earlier Friday, the search had resumed for a man who may have used an all-terrain vehicle on ice in the area.
On Thursday afternoon, searchers looking for the 23-year-old Jamestown resident recovered a helmet, boots and gloves from open water.
The clothing was spotted from a helicopter and recovered with the aid of a small boat at about 3 p.m.
The man was last seen Wednesday night after saying he planned to ride his ATV on the bay ice from Lethbridge to Bloomfield.
RCMP said there were areas of open water on the bay.
