The Supreme Court of Canada is reinstating the conviction of a Newfoundland man for sexually assaulting a young girl in 2009.

Thomas Molloy's original conviction was overturned by an appeal court.

But now the country's highest court says the guilty verdict and 30-month sentence were correct.

Molloy has been out on bail. He'll now have to serve most of his sentence.
