The Tories expected to hold Burin-Placentia West, where incumbent Clyde Jackman — the province's minister of fisheries and aquaculture — is seeking his third term.
The NDP beg to differ, and have high hopes for Marystown's Julie Mitchell, the town's former deputy mayor. With frustrations over the idled Ocean Choice International fish plant and a lack of work at the Kiewit-owned shipyard, the NDP say Jackman is in for a tough fight.
