Carol King has been missing since Aug. 6 (CBC) The sister of a western Newfoundland woman who vanished 18 days ago in Saskatchewan says she is frustrated that the RCMP is giving her so few details about its investigation.
Brenda King said she calls the police regularly for updates on her sister's case, but they have nothing to tell her.
Carol King, 40, who moved to the Prairies three years ago, disappeared Aug 6 near Herschel, Saskatchewan about 150 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.
A friend said she was heading to nearby Rosetown to give a statement to police about being harassed.
RCMP said that since Friday, they have been using cadaver dogs in the search around King's home, as well as the slough where her submerged PT Cruiser was found.
The dogs are from the Calgary Police Service, and police said the animals are capable of detecting a body even if it has been buried.
King, who is originally from Mattis Point in western Newfoundland, was in constant contact with her family back in her home province before she went missing.
RCMP said they don't believe King disappeared of her own accord.
