An emergency call to police led to the arrest of a very impaired driver south of St. John's Thursday, police said.

RCMP said the caller reported seeing someone driving all over the road near Bay Bulls.

About 10 minutes later, police stopped a woman, 53, near LaManche.

RCMP said the woman blew almost three times the legal blood-alcohol limit on a breathalyzer.

The woman, who faces a charge of impaired driving, will appear in provincial court in the new year.
