The provincial government is calling for tenders to repair ruts in three major roads in and around St. John's.

The tender call covers the Conception Bay South Bypass Road, the Outer Ring Road and Torbay Road.

In total, nearly 13 kilometres of roadway will be repaired.

Motorists have complained for years that the ruts are hazardous, especially when it rains and cars can hydroplane on water that collects in the ruts.
