Police say the cause of a fire that killed three people in northern Labrador on the weekend will likely be never known.
RCMP said Tuesday the damage to a house fire in Nain on Saturday was so extensive it would be impossible for investigators to identify what started the blaze.
Two children, ages two and four, and their grandfather perished in the fire, which broke out Saturday evening. Flames and heat from the fire were so intense that volunteer firefighters could not immediately enter the building.
The fire leaped to a nearby house, which was not occupied at the time.
