A woman who was struck by a vehicle in a shopping mall parking lot in Carbonear, Conception Bay North, on Monday night has died.
The woman, 42, was heading into the Trinity Conception Square mall at 10 p.m. when she was hit as she crossed the parking lot heading towards the Dominion store.
She suffered serious head injuries, was taken to the hospital in Carbonear, and then transferred to the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's.
The woman died from her injuries Wednesday afternoon.
The RCMP said the vehicle, driven by a 29-year-old man, was travelling in the lane in front of the mall at the time.
The police said neither speed nor alcohol caused the accident, but visibility was poor at the time because it was dark and raining.
The woman's name hasn't been released.
