Officials with the ferry service operating between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland and Labrador are advising customers to call before leaving if they have plans to use a Marine Atlantic ferry during the holiday season.
The company's president and CEO, Wayne Follett, says bad weather in mid-December caused a backlog for about four days.
More than 3,000 vehicles were delayed.
Follett says if the weather is bad, customers should call the information line or check the Marine Atlantic website for updates on any schedule changes.
