Prince Charles and Camilla speak with Prime Minister Stephen Harper in St. John's. Canada spent $2.57 million on the November royal visit by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla that started in Newfoundland and ended in Ottawa.
The couple arrived in St. John's on Nov. 2 and travelled across the country for 11 days. They flew back to England from Canada's capital after visiting four provinces.
According to documents obtained through a federal access to information request by Sun Media, the cost of hotel rooms for the visit was more than $135,000.
Other expenses include $40,000 for a website for the visit, and $630,000 to pay staff that worked on the visit.
