Searchers have found the body of a duck hunter who had been missing in Notre Dame Bay since late Sunday.

The body of the 62-year-old, whose name hasn't been released, was found Monday about 11 a.m., about 20 kilometres north of where his capsized boat was found.

A spokesperson for search and rescue said his body was located by the crew of a fishing trawler helping in the search.

The coast guard vessel Sir Wilfred Grenfell was heading to the site to retrieve the body.

The man, from the Triton area of Notre Dame Bay, failed to return from a bird hunting trip.

His small open boat was found Sunday evening, capsized in the League Rocks area of Notre Dame Bay.

A Cormorant helicopter had also been assisting in the search.
