A man from Conception Bay South who went from vehicle to vehicle slashing tires has been sentenced to four months house arrest.

Kyle Halverson, 21, was sentenced in provincial court in St. John's Wednesday.

Halverson told the court he was drunk when he used a butterfly knife to slash more than two dozen tires on Greenslades Road in CBS in July of last year. He also apologized, saying he was sorry for what he did.

Halverson will be on probation for two years after his house arrest time is served. The court also ordered him to pay nearly $3,600 in restitution, to stay away from the 24 residents whose tires he slashed, and he's not allowed on Greenslades Road.

Another man, Shawn Pierce, 20, was also charged in connection with the tire slashing.

His case is still going through the courts.
