Mount Pearl man dies in St. John's car crash

A 39-year-old man from Mount Pearl was killed in a single-vehicle accident in St. John's on Tuesday night.
The man, whose name hasn't been released, was driving south on Columbus Drive when he struck a concrete pole at the intersection at Canada Drive, flipping the car over onto its roof, a spokesman for the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said.
There were no passengers. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are still investigating.
