An arrest warrant has been issued for a western Newfoundland woman who is accused of committing fraud with a politician's credit card.

Virginia Catherine Young, 49, of Stephenville failed to show up in provincial court in Corner Brook on Tuesday.

Young has been charged with two counts of possessing property obtained by crime and three counts of fraud.

According to court documents, Young is accused of using a credit card belonging to Tony Cornect, a Progressive Conservative who represents Port au Port district in the house of assembly.

About $250 had been fraudulently charged to Cornect's card.
