Four moose were killed Monday night in separate collisions west of St. John's.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said officers were called to three moose-vehicle accidents within a 45-minute period on the Manuels access road, which connects that part of Conception Bay South with the Trans-Canada Highway.
A separate accident was reported on the TCH itself, near Paddy's Pond.
All four moose were killed. Their carcasses were removed by wildlife officials.
The RNC said no drivers and passengers were seriously injured.
Staff-Sgt. Joe Gullage said the three Manuels-area collisions happened between 9:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. near Fowler's Road.
The Newfoundland and Labrador government says about 700 moose-vehicle collisions are reported each year.
The most dangerous months are in the summer. Accidents are most likely to happen in the early morning or around twilight.
