Joey Oliver, seen following his January 2006 arrest, was ordered Thursday to return to custody. (CBC)A man facing trial on two murder charges is back in custody, after appeal judges rescinded his bail conditions.
Joey Oliver was charged in January 2007 with two counts of second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Dale Worthman and Kimberley Lockyer.
The Newfoundland Supreme Court of Appeal rescinded the terms of Oliver's bail on Thursday afternoon.
Worthman and Lockyer were last seen alive in 1993. Their bodies were found in 2006 in a wooded area not far from their home in Portugal Cove-St. Philip's, north of St. John's.
Oliver was granted bail this winter, with conditions that included staying away from Portugal Cove-St. Philip's.
Oliver is currently attending a preliminary inquiry on the two second-degree murder charges. The inquiry is determining whether there is enough evidence to send the case to trial in Newfoundland Supreme Court.
