An Aer Lingus jet made an unexpected stop in St. John's this weekend after a crack appeared in its windshield.
The jet, carrying 223 passengers and 19 crew members, made an emergency landing in St. John's late Saturday night, airport officials said.
The flight had been en route from Boston to Shannon, Ireland.
The passengers were put up in hotel rooms in St. John's until late Sunday night, when Aer Lingus had another plane arrive to carry them to Ireland.
A repair crew, meanwhile, is working on the damaged Airbus's windshield.
