A wind farm south of St. John's may finally get a green light, following a series of sales of the company proposing its development.
The 27-megawatt wind farm will be built near the Southern Shore community of Fermeuse last year.

However, Vector Wind Energy — which signed an agreement with Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro in 2006 — was then bought by Canadian Hydro Developers, which in turn sold the project to SkyPower Corp.
Hydro announced Wednesday that it has reached a final deal with SkyPower, which it said will build nine wind turbines near Fermeuse, about 90 kilometres south of St. John's.
Hydro expects to be able to purchase energy by the end of 2008.
When completed, it will be the second commercial wind farm in Newfoundland and Labrador. Construction began earlier this year on a farm near St. Lawrence, on the Burin Peninsula.
Hydro's power-purchase agreement with SkyPower runs for 20 years.
