Stolen narcotics could be a deadly mix, police warn
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says drugs stolen during a Monday evening robbery in the west end of St. John's could pose a great public safety risk, and possibly end a life.
An armed and masked men held up the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy on Topsail Road around 6 p.m.
He escaped with large quantities of prescription narcotics, including methadone hydrochloride powder, "which is potentially lethal if mixed incorrectly," police said in a statement.
No one was injured during the robbery.
The suspect was described as about six feet tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black coat, black pants and a black hat.
