Stephenville Crossing man dead in pickup crash
One man is dead and another faces impaired driving charges after a pickup crashed in Stephenville Crossing on Sunday night.
The Ford F-150 failed to make a turn on Brook Street and went off the road at 9:30 p.m., according to a news release from the Bay St. George RCMP.
A male passenger from Stephenville Crossing, 70, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 62-year-old man from Barachois Brook, has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, operation of a motor vehicle causing death with blood alcohol over .08, and dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death.
He remains in custody pending a court appearance in Stephenville on Tuesday morning.
Another passenger in the truck was not injured.
