Stabbing investigation hits dead end as victim stays silent
Police said they can do nothing more with an investigation into a stabbing in downtown St. John's last month because the victim is refusing to speak with officers.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary collected evidence, including blood seen splattered on a sidewalk, soon after the Aug. 22 stabbing on Freshwater Road, near the iconic Ches's fish-and-chips restaurant.
The RNC said two men who knew each other were involved in a violent encounter.
A 36-year-old man was stabbed and then treated in hospital.
"The victim in the incident will not speak with police and is not providing any information to assist in the investigation," the RNC said in a statement.
