Stabbing in St. John's home leads to woman's arrest

Police have arrested a 46-year-old woman following an assault with a weapon at a house on Cowan Avenue, in the west end of St. John's.

Police have arrested and charged a 46-year-old woman with aggravated assault, and assault causing bodily harm in the west end of St. John's.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called to a house on Cowan Avenue on Sunday afternoon.

A woman, 47, was taken to hospital with serious injuries that police said are consistent with a stabbing.

Police said the two women know each other, but did not release any other information about the case.

The RNC investigation is continuing.
