Stabbing in downtown St. John's under investigation
Ralph Driscoll makes Saturday court appearance, held over weekend for Monday bail hearing
The man charged in a stabbing incident that occurred in downtown St. John's Friday afternoon appeared in court Saturday.
Ralph Driscoll, 51, has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said the incident happened on Cabot Street, around 4:45 p.m. Friday.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and later released from hospital.
Police said the victim and Driscoll were known to each other.
Driscoll will appear in court again Monday morning for a bail hearing.
