The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is trying to piece together how two men were found bleeding this weekend on different streets in St. John's.

The RNC found a man bleeding in the Goodview Street area on Saturday afternoon.

A short time later, police received another call regarding a second man, also bleeding, this time in the Cabot Street area, also in downtown St. John's.

That man was holding a knife.

Police believe that a third person was somehow involved in the case.

The RNC said both men didn't want to talk in detail about what had happened.

One of the men suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital, but the other refused to go to hospital after paramedics treated him.

It's not known if any arrests are pending.
