St. John’s wins 3-2 in overtime to sweep Bridgeport
Adam Lowry scored the game-winner with 25 seconds left in overtime to lift the St. John's IceCaps to a 3-2 win — their eighth straight — over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Saturday night at Mile One Centre.
Eric O'Dell and Andrew Gordon had the other tallies for St. John's, while Michael Hutchinson stopped 15-of-17 shots to post the win.
The IceCaps also set a new team record by collecting a point in their ninth straight game.
St. John's will look to extend their winning streak on Wednesday night, when they take on the Portland Pirates for the first in a three-game series.
