The St. John's Morning show surprised unsuspecting listeners this morning with its annual gift of song. The winners are nominated by people who feel they deserved to be serenaded by a group of choristers dressed in Victorian garb.
"Visiting fine, unsuspecting people who have been nominated by their loved ones for the 'gift of song' is always exciting because the CBC crew never knows what's going to happen. When the door opens and —behold — there are five carollers dressed in Victorian garb, the initial response is shock," said host Anthony Germain.
"Bewilderment soon turns to splendour, as people who've had difficulties in 2013, enjoy being serenaded and surprised with a present without monetary value. From the Goulds to downtown, and on to the East End, I hope the images we captured here will fill you with the same warm Christmas spirit felt by the entire CBC crew while delivering this year's 'gift of song.'
