St. John's mayor wants more provincial money
Expected to make pitch at provincial pre-budget consultations
St. John's Mayor Dennis O'Keefe will be lobbying for more long-term money to help pay for services, programs and infrastructure when he goes to provincial pre-budget consultations.
O'Keefe was planning to be one of first to make recommendations when the provincial government launches consultations Friday in advance of bringing down a budget in the spring.
O'Keefe said he also would meet with the mayors of Corner Brook and Grand Falls-Windsor Friday as part of the city's plan to work with other municipalities to present a united front to government.
